Ironworkers Local 709 was chartered in Savannah, Georgia, on July 31, 1947. We have had a strong foothold in forging Savannah into the great and prosperous city it has become. Our presence is known in 50 facilities in our jurisdiction which covers over half of Georgia and portions of South Carolina. From beginning to end we have provided respectable wages, retirement benefits and health insurance to thousands of members; which in return places money back into our local economy.
