The National Association of Power Engineers (N.A.P.E.) is the oldest association dedicated to education, founded in October of 1882. Education is the strongest tool in preventing human error when the health and safety of many people depend upon the proper operation of engineering plants in the generation and transmission of power. The National Association of Power Engineers provides that necessary tool. N.A.P.E. education and training promotes the protection of life and property through responsible engineering practices. N.A.P.E. provides power engineers with the necessary tools to obtain an education no matter the level of past experience or proximity to a local Chapter. Through Chapters located throughout the United States, N.A.P.E. provides continuing-education classes to bring new information and technology to power engineers so engineers may keep up their knowledge and licensing.
