Wolfe Electric Co., Inc. is accepting applications for an Apprentice Electrician to learn on-the-job and assist Wireman or Journeyman Electricians in providing quality, efficient and professional electrical services that meet/exceed customer needs and expectations.
We are looking for candidates who are innovative, self-motivated, eager to learn and interested in working towards, obtaining their Journeyman License and establish a career within the Electrical Trade Industry and Wolfe Electric Co., Inc.
As an Apprentice Electrician you will learn under Wireman and Journeyman how to assess, install, alter, add and/or repair electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the Commercial, Service, Industrial and Residential Electrical Construction Industry. You will complete both hands-on projects on job sites and coursework in a classroom setting.

WHAT DOES AN APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN DO?
•Assist Wireman or Journeymen Electricians by performing tasks under the direct supervision of a Wireman or Journeyman Electrician while installing the work and handling materials, as well as paperwork, etc.
•Must keep all materials, tools and equipment in an orderly fashion and always keep the work area clean.
•Positively identify wire colors.
•Comprehend reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
•Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
•Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
•Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
•Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.
•Operates company trucks.
•Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site, directions, blueprints and written instructions.
•Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered).
•Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in the Safety policy.
•Possess a willingness to learn, adapt to changing priorities and have a positive attitude.
•Think ahead as to show how to spend available time for maximum production.
•Attend all Wolfe Electric Company, Inc’s training classes including but not limited to Safety, blueprint reading, code classes etc.
•Effectively communicate to include oral/written and listen.
•Must demonstrate safe work habits according to Wolfe Electric Co., Inc.’s policies and procedures.
•Demonstrates efficient knowledge of trade given level of coursework, experience and understanding.
•Must successfully complete four (4) years of on the job training.
•Represents Wolfe Electric Co., Inc. in a positive and professional manner to demonstrate a positive company image that meet/exceeds standards and expectations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•No experience is necessary, wages are based on qualifications, electrical knowledge and previous OJT hours/experience
•Six (6) months or more professional electrical experience (preferred)
•Aspiration and commitment to obtain a Journeyman license
•Ability to read, speak and understand English to be able to comply with Safety Regulations, State and Local Electrical Code requirements as well as communicate effectively with co-workers, General Contractors, Architects, Engineers and Office staff.
•Eagerness to learn and option to complete up to four (4) years of Associated, Builders and Contractors (ABC) Electrical training program or agreed accredited electrical program.
•If applicant is offered a position, they must pass an employment physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
•If applicant is offered a position they must pass a background check.
•Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
•Must possess at time of hire or register as an Electrical Apprentice in the State of Nebraska.

WHAT IS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS?
•Position requires working in all elements inside and outside, depending on job location, and time of year to include; heat, cold, rain and snow.
•Employee must always have required tools with them.
•Climb and work from all type of ladders.
•Perform work at various heights, up to 60’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas.
•Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility covers, crawl spaces, and attics).
•Wear PPE (Personal Projective Equipment) to include; Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Ear Plugs in required areas and Work Gloves.
•Seatbelts are always required to be worn in vehicles per law and company policy.
•Repetitive use of arms, hands, fingers and working overhead.
•Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
•Constantly move on feet.
•Possess good vision (normal and corrected) and distinguish various wire colors even if color blind.
•Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week and overtime as required.
•Travel local between Omaha and Lincoln as project demands necessitate.
•Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
