Become a Apprentice Battery Electrician at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. This position will be in the Battery Shop group within T&D’s Construction Division. As a Apprentice Battery Electrician You will assist the Battery Electricians and learn to install and make field repairs to storage batteries used in generating plants, substations, and telecom sites. The Apprentice Battery Electrician tests and adjusts station voltmeters and ammeters and maintains station and shop charging equipment.

•Installing and repairing stationary batteries and chargers.
•Will be working in many different types of locations including, indoors and outdoors and in all weather conditions.
•Follow directions and instructions.
•Records battery test results
Qualifications
The essentials
•One or more years of experience troubleshooting Electronic or Electrical Equipment AND/OR a formal Electronics Training Certification or Diploma through an Electronics Trade School, University, Community College or equivalent Electronics/Electrical education.
•Ability to perform heavy physical work in a shop or field environment including using hand and power tools.
•Valid U.S. driver’s license.
The preferred
•Experience using principles of physics.
•Experience electrical AC and DC circuits.
•Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical theory.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel Outlook.
