Boiler/Refrigeration Utilities Mechanic
Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrated adaptability and willingness to work in a team-orientated fast-paced manufacturing work environment that meets strict quality and safety standards.
What’s on the menu?
•
Perform preventative maintenance of all assigned equipment to assure maximum equipment effectiveness.
•
Participate in all aspects of the preventative maintenance process including completing tasks to specifications, processing follow-up work orders, and contributing to the improvement of preventative maintenance plans.
•
Perform root cause failure analysis on equipment breakdowns.
•
Perform planned equipment rebuilds/PM activities across the department.
•
Prepare and maintain control wiring diagrams and equipment troubleshooting.
•
Perform Conditional Based Maintenance CBM scans of plant Buss-Ducts, transformers, equipment panels and MCC panels.
•
Perform, develop and modify PLC programs for troubleshooting and improvements.
•
Support PLC systems and maintains up-to-date library of all PLC programs (Asset Center).
•
Perform mechanical maintenance tasks and other tasks as assigned by leadership.
•
Perform and maintain Data systems to include HMI Human Machine Interface and laptops.
•
Implement recommendations or requirements made by Continuous Improvement Team for equipment, electrical/electronic components, and system design to improve line effectiveness & equipment reliability.
•
Configuration of calibrations for all forms of electrical and pneumatic process equipment i.e. X-Ray, Metal Detector, Chart Recorder and checkweigher.
•
Required to carry a company phone and respond to emergency calls.
•
Assist maintenance leadership with equipment bill of materials.
•
Support maintenance leadership with spare parts inventory levels for plant equipment.
•
Provide training for other associates (technical or production) as needed.
•
Support and maintain positive rapport with customers, suppliers, contractors, and 3rd party associates.
•
Support and participate on assigned teams. Champion team decisions cross functionally across the plant.
•
Expected to provide coverage for peers on vacation, training, sick and meetings.
•
Required to convey ideas/facts clearly and concisely through verbal and written communication.
•
Use of SAP and Microsoft Office business applications to document, communicate and complete job tasks.
•
Accountable for the SRMP (Safety Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the Springfield SRMP accountability document.
•
Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes.
•
Understand and accountable for the KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, involvement in process improvements, etc.

Minimum Qualifications and Physical Requirements
•
Basic math, reading, and communication
•
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required
•
Ability to adjust to temperature changes (lower 40s to upper 90s); can be in hot/humid or cool environment depending on assigned job tasks
•
Minimum of 2 years of industrial electrical maintenance, industrial machine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, components and parts required.
•
Prior Boiler and Refrigeration Operator and manufacturing experience preferred.
•
Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, ascending and descending; and moves up to 50 pounds; holds and grips object; must possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment and disassemble and reassemble equipment.

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
