Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Diesel Technicians for a project located in Catawba Island, OH . This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $21-27/hour based on experience and skill level plus $120 per diem for travelers living 60+ miles from the job site.If you are a Marine Diesel Technician eager to master your skills alongside other skilled Marine Diesel Technicians and accomplished Craft Professionals, this is your chance to advance your career!
Job Scope:
•
Maintenance, Repair, and Overall Management of Diesel Engines on Marine Vessels
•
Ensure the Safe Operations of a Variety of Watercrafts Ranging from Small Boats to Large Ships
•
Troubleshoot Issues, Replace Parts, Ensure Optimal Engine Performance
•
Use Advanced Diagnostic Tools and Techniques to Identify Engine Problems
•
Assess Engine Performance, Determine Necessary Repairs or Adjustments
•
Install and Upgrade Engine Components and Related Systems such as Fuel Injection, Exhaust, and Cooling Systems
•
Maintain a Safe Working Environment
•
Provide Technical Advice and Support to Ship Crews and Other Personnel Regarding Engine Operation, Maintenance, and Repair
•
Keep Detailed Records of Maintenance and Repair Work Including Parts Used, Time Spent, and Recommendations for Future Maintenance
•
Be Available to Respond to Emergency Repair Needs, Possibly Outside of Normal Business Hours or in Challenging Conditions
•
Physical Labor in Confined Spaces
•
Other Tasks as Assigned
Requirements:
•
High School Diploma or Equivalent
•
Post Secondary Training in Marine Diesel Technology or Related Field
•
3+ Years of Experience Working with Diesel Engines and Marine Systems
•
Strong Mechanical and Technical Skills with a Deep Understanding of Diesel Engines and Marine Systems
•
Excellent Problem Solving Abilities and Attention to Detail
•
Good Communication, Interpersonal Skills to Effectively Interact with Team Members and Clients
•
Commitment to Ongoing Learning, and Staying Updated with the Latest Marine Technology
•
Must be Prepared to Work in Varying Weather Conditions
