Construction Laborer
Job Summary
The Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting the Skilled Laborers and Equipment Operators on construction projects and may operate a variety of hand and power tools, air hammers, and measuring equipment. Construction Laborers will help prepare and clean up job sites and perform other duties as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
•Material handling and signaling trucks dumping construction materials
•Operating portable platform scale that weighs material for paving operations
•Operate various hand and power tools
•Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices
•Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies
•Perform the tying of rebar and basket placement
•Assist with setting of stringline and concrete forms
•Perform traffic flagging duties
•Operating pickup trucks and parts procurement
•Operating hot mastic kettle
Other Duties
•Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
•Lift joint baskets weighing up to 70 lbs. from knee to chest height, place basket on ground, and secure by hammering retain clips into the ground
•Insert L-bar 2ft. into concrete slab every 2ft., roughly 1,500 daily
•Shovel excess concrete and asphalt from paved surfaces and carry 75 lbs. up to 150ft.
•Walk along paver on hard surface that can be periodically uneven for 10-14 hours per day
•Clean asphalt, concrete, and other materials from pavers and equipment
•Pick up, carry, and set large signs and traffic control devices
Job Requirements
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Must complete a pre-employment drug screen with a “Negative” result
•Must be able to complete a post offer physical with a “Capable” result
•Some travel may be required
