CONCRETE LABORER (Construction Laborer)
A Concrete Laborer, or Construction Laborer, performs tasks involving physical labor for concrete and other commercial construction tasks. Responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for the erection of structures and buildings. May operate a variety of hand and power tools to dig trenches, set braces and concrete forms, pour and place concrete, tend machines, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. May assist other craft workers or operating engineers
Primary Responsibilities
•Perform general construction labor to include jobsite clean-up & moving of materials by hand
•Safely operate motorized equipment and power tools after proper training and authorization
•Assist in setting forms and wall panel forms, pouring and placing of flatwork/vertical concrete. This includes, but not limited to, pulling rebar, using concrete vibrator, run concrete chute or pump hose, dragging of concrete by use of come a long or screed board.
•Material handling and storage (load/unload trucks, haul and hoist materials)
•Service machines including pumps, compressors, generators, or other small engine items
•Dig, clean, or spot trenches; set water, sewer, and storm piping.
•Maintain clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment, secure job site daily, and eliminate potential hazards
Job Requirements
•Consistent dependability (must have good attendance)
•Reliable transportation for travel up to 75 miles to job site
•Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance
•Stamina to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, climb and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
•Familiarity with hand & power tools (hammers, levels & squares, circular saws, impact drills)
•Carry own tools (tool belt, hammer, square, level, chalk line, pry bar, etc)
•Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedules
•Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
Required experience
•Construction labor: 1 year
Required license or certification
•OSHA 10-hr Construction Card (will train)
