Eaton’s IS AER FED is currently seeking a Maintenance Tech I - 3rd Shift. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.

Core hours: 11pm-7:30am
The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.50 per hour.

What you’ll do:
The Maintenance Technician I will focus on facilities maintenance and under direct supervision, performs entry level mechanical, electrical, and systems troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals, diagrams, schematics and sketches.
•Performs corrective & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing equipment in operation to determine root cause of problem; dismantling to gain access to and remove/replace defective parts; adjustment of control instruments; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems
•Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary. Performs evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and / or reliability of equipment.
•Periodic machine lubrication, coolant changes and chip removal per schedule.
•Assemble devices received in kit form such as furniture and shelving units.
•Provides support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
•Is aware of Maintenance Industry Standards.
•Participates in CI activities - processes, results and cost savings. Assures compliance with 5S+ and housekeeping standards.
•Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
•Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
•This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
•No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintenance
•Minimum of two (2) years of experience in machining, metal working and welding machines
Skills
•Complies with all national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies by driving EBS/World class workforce initiatives such as ISO14001 and/or applicable regional initiatives.
•Ability to proactively work with other team members under limited supervision.
•This position requires standing and/or walking for an entire eight - twelve hours.
•Ability to comprehend and follow technical standards and maintenance procedures.
•Knowledge of operating lift truck, material handling equipment, man lifts and hand tools.
•This job requires working daily with lubricants and solvents.
•Production environment is subject to unexpected swings of overtime - must be able to flex personal schedule to cover required tasks on and off shifts
