Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Welding Technician III - 2nd shift. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.
Manufacturing technicians are responsible for performing assembly and test processes on aerospace hardware. Development of hardware, creating functional test setups, working with various high pressure gases, and initiating engineering collaboration to successfully deliver quality aerospace components and systems. Technicians are Responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Production Supervisor regarding specific production needs (part availability, equipment, production status, and schedule updates) to ensure on-time delivery. Perform assembly and testing of production hardware within the confines of the systems and procedures and the certified operator system
Core hours: 3PM-11:30PM
The hourly rate for this position is $28.32 + $1.00 shift differential per hour.

What you’ll do:
•Perform manufacturing processes on complex assemblies following written instructions.
•Independently perform manufacturing processes on complex assemblies and weldments following written instructions.
•Detailed knowledge of Electron Beam and Laser welding processes, pneumatic, vibration, thermal and Lot Acceptance test requirements and equipment to evaluate aerospace systems.
•Experienced in the use of Electron Beam and Laser welding equipment, Pressure gauges, flowmeters and relief valves.
•Detailed knowledge in complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
•Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting weldment, electrical and mechanical assemblies and high pressure test equipment issues.
•Thorough Understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
•Knowledgeable in complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with a familiarity in component surface finishes and aerospace cleanliness requirements.
•Thorough Understanding of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
•Skilled at diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical assemblies and high pressure test equipment issues.
•Ability to work on complex projects and/or products with minimal direction and knowledge to involve required support from Engineering or Supervision.
•Verify calibrated equipment, material with expiration dates and written instructions are up to date and accurate prior to use in production.
•Properly manage the traceability of numerous components to ensure assembly accuracy.
•Work in partnership with Engineering to Identify improvement opportunities, resulting in a decrease of lead time, cost savings, elimination of waste, or safety improvement
•Obtain and maintain Certified Operator Status following site guidelines
•Responsible for ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
•Assist Production Supervisor in training, developing and mentoring the lower level technicians on products, manufacturing processes and testing practices.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution
•Minimum of 4 years Aerospace manufacturing OR 5 years military experience OR 6 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
•Minimum of 2 years of automated welding (electron beam welding or auto TIG experience)
•Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
•This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
•No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred qualifications:
•Experience with CNC Programming
•Experience with weld inspection to AWS17.1 standard

•Solid understanding of microscopes, dial indicators and camera aided measurement
•Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts
