JOB SUMMARY: The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Preventative maintenance such as basic oil and filter changes, replace spark plugs, install, and test batteries, replacement of common components.
•System repairs such as testing and parts replacement
•Generator diagnostic tests- troubleshoot customer problems
•Support new installations with site preparation, project management, inspections
•Extensive communication with fellow field service technicians
•Write-up of accurate Field Service Reports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
2 years related technical experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate degree in Technical Field
Experience:
5 year of construction/ trade experience- generator, electrical, HVAC, solar, small engine.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Understand and follow operations and maintenance manuals, including electrical diagrams, and operations & maintenance manuals.
•Feel comfortable in a field service role where site-to-site travel is often through heavy traffic congestion.
•Be friendly internally and externally, with strong communications skills.
•Be motivated to become self-sufficient and educated on Generac products and troubleshooting techniques.
•Be able to regularly lift and maneuver objects weighing over 100 lbs.
•Must possess and maintain current valid driver license
Level of Independence:
This position acts under the direction of the VP Sales for the GSPS Division.
Compensation:
Energy Systems is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly rate for this role based in Concord, CA $25.48-$37.98. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
