JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains the heating, ventilation and cooling systems by checking and performing routine maintenance on components of those systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess successful experience working in a diverse population of students and staff.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Checks equipment such as univents, air handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, valves, towers, air compressors, air conditioners, chillers, hot water circuits, chill and condenser water supplies, thermostats, power regulator, boilers, steam traps, and pipes to assess proper function and make required adjustments.
Maintains the above equipment by performing such routine maintenance as adjusting or replacing belts, replacing filter, oil and refrigerant, lubricating or replacing bearings or motors, dismantling and cleaning boilers, cleaning filters, tubes, windboxes, screens, and ionizers; refers requests for major repairs to supervisor.
Performs chemical tests on tower, chill, soft and boiler water as needed.
Checks temperatures throughout buildings and investigates complaints to detect heating, ventilation or cooling problems.
Maintains safe, neat and orderly work area.
Must have an EPA Certification for refrigerant.
Maintain a valid driver’s license
Be able to operate a volt OHM meter.
