Our team in Aircraft Group is looking for a Machinist Apprentice to join them. You will report to the machine shop Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.
Our Apprenticeship Program is designed so that the apprentice will receive hands on training on Moog machinery (CNC, Automatic, some manual machines), and processes throughout all functions of the machine shop. The apprentice will not just learn how to machine and process Moog hardware but will also gain an understanding of the big picture - how the apprentice’s actions impact all operations, including Assembly & Test and Inspection as it pertains to quality, delivery, and cost.

To be considered for the Machinist Apprentice role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
•High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
•Must have certification of completion from NTMA, trade schools or community colleges prior to starting the program
•Basic blueprint reading, measuring equipment and basic machine shop fundamentals
•Commitment: approximately 2 - 2.5 years (24-30 mos.) - 4,000 - 5,000 hours
•Must be flexible-required to accommodate shift change (1st, 2nd, 3rd) defined by program curriculum
Salary range:
California Residents: Pay range for this opportunity is $22 per hour. Apprentices are eligible to receive a $0.75 step increases every 3 months until reaching the max of the apprentice range at $30 per hour. Apprentices are also eligible for an annual compensation increase in January; the top of the apprentice range will be adjusted accordingly.
