PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures.
The base compensation range for this role is $22.38 - $42.51 per hour.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
A. Set up, flag, and inspect a crane
B. Inspect rigging properly
C. Run a site level
D. Check in truck deliveries against bill of lading when load arrives
E. Count bars and bundles of rebar, dobies, and wire mesh
F. Direct forklift/crane to unload delivery truck
G. Shake out rebar and distributing/organizing accordingly
H. Use pliers to tie rebar intersections with tie wire
I. Splice mats or rebar sections together with short rebar dowels
J. Understand building codes/requirements
K. Cut excess rebar ends and miscellaneous pieces with gas cut saw or cutting torch
L. Install mechanical rebar splices by bolting or welding ends together
M. Install caps on vertical rebar dowels for safety and rebar dowels into fresh concrete footings
N. Determine number, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral
instructions
O. Bend steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machine
P. Reinforce concrete with wire mesh
Q. Install prefabricated ornamental ironwork
R. Receive and offload all major components
S. Assist with main erection crane assembly and teardown
T. Climb ladders - average 80m
U. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
V. All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A. High school diploma or GED
B. Minimum two years related experience
C. Must have passed the Apprentice Aptitude Test
D. Current driver’s license
