About this Role
Cable Communication Services
A Directional Drill Operator’s primary responsibility is to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately using a directional drill. Other equipment knowledge preferred for this position but not required are skid steers, mini/midsize excavators, backhoes, midsize/large Vac truck and trailers, with experience operating this equipment around existing utilities.
What You’ll Do
•Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport
•Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it’s in good working order
•Driving or controlling equipment to complete tasks at the construction site
•Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly
•Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their Supervisor if maintenance is past due
•Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used
•Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste
•Completing minor repair work as needed
What You’ll Bring
Required:
•High School Diploma or GED
•At least 3 years of equipment operating experience
•Knowledge of all phases of Utility construction
•Skill set to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
•Valid, Active Driver’s License
•Valid, Active DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
Preferred:
Pre-screen: Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
