Description
Ideal candidates will have a current license with 2 - 3 years of extensive experience with MCC wiring, LV/MV terminations, bending conduit, pulling wire, cable tray installations, able to read blueprints, etc. This is a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Electrician Apprentice will be responsible for reading blueprints, diagnosing electrical problems, and repairing electrical systems.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform manual processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, and electric and pneumatic tooling.
•Report defective material or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
•Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
•Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedule with minimum supervision
•Bend conduit and pull wire
•Perform LV wiring + termination
•Perform MV wiring + termination
•Perform control wiring and MCC wiring
•Other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor
JOB SKILLS:
•Ability to follow methods and procedures
•Familiarity with assembly and measuring tools, interpretation of visual aids and ability to perform simple shop math.
•Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
•Ability to read blueprints and pipe and instrumentation drawing
•Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, often changing environment.
•Ability to multi-task over several projects and manage conflicting priorities.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•Current electrician apprentice license with TDL#
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•2 - 4 years of experience as a licensed electrician apprentice
•3 months of related factory experience
•Current electrician apprentice license with TDL #
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
•Must be willing & able to submit to a drug screen, physical and background check (2nd chance organization; case-by-case basis depending on severity & time of crime)
•Must be willing work OT including Saturdays
•Previous experience in a MANUFACTURING environment and working on big industrial projects like SKIDS—commercial & residential electrician experience will not be consisdered
•Ability to install cable trays—may be tested on this in interview
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
•Work performed in a shop environment;
•Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable;
•May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process;
•Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials;
•Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach;
•The use of Safety Glasses is required;
•The use of earplugs is recommended;
•Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week;
•Ability to work in a non air-conditioned environment.
•Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
