Position Overview: Train under the Welding Supervisor and alongside Journey Welder to develop skills in the trade of fabrication welding, while attending an Apprenticeship or other recognized program.
The role of the Apprentice is to:
•Learn the skills of the trade to a professional and competent level.
•Apply themselves to both on and off the job training.
•Contribute to the work area operational work plans and goals.
•3-year program partnering with Machinist Institute to become a Journeyman Level Welder
•Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) will take place on Friday’s 6:00AM-12:00PM once a week for 6 hours following the school schedule on-site at the Bradken facility with instructor.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Attend and participate in pre-starts, TEAMSafe, and other meetings.
•Attend classroom portion of apprenticeship program, both on and off scheduled job hours.
•Attend bi weekly review meetings with Training Specialist and Supervisors
•Comply with organizational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations
•Work with a Journey Welder for instruction and training.
•All work performed is to be reviewed by the Journey Welder, Inspection Team or by Shop Supervisor.
•Maintain good housekeeping at your work station
•Participate in cost saving or process improvement projects.
•Immediately correct safety issues that are within your area, and alert management to any safety issues that need further attention.
•Participate in special activities, projects, and programs to support BRADKEN’s safety, quality, and productivity goals.
•Complete all off-the-job training as required.
•May be required to assist in other departments and work areas.
•Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications:
•Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screening.
•Eligibility to work in the U.S.
•No previous experience required.
•Welding knowledge and experience (preferred)
Pay Rate: $24.92 (following increases will be dependent upon the Union Agreement.)
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 8:00AM - 6:30PM
