The Role
The Quality Control Technician I will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, first articles, and in-process and final inspections. The incumbent will use various gauges and hand tools to validate dimensions, features and other characteristics of prototype and production components, subassemblies, and finished goods for conformance to customer, engineering, and company quality requirements. This is an entry level position intended as a path to Quality Control Technician II.
Pay Starts at $21.00/HR. Can be adjusted with experience.
Hours: 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM Monday -Thursday
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
•Must have the ability or be willing to learn to use and read analog and digital inspection tools, instruments, and gauges including indicators, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other equipment as necessary to validate the quality of product
•Must have the ability to perform most inspection tasks with assistance
•Review company records, such as inspection reports, certificates of compliance, material test reports, and nonconformance reports to determine results of quality tests
•Read and interpret engineering drawings
•Record inspection results and mark stamp of approval
•Prepare rejection reports as necessary
Basic Qualifications:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Information:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the inspector is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The inspector must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); including safety glasses, face shield, ear protection, and safety shoes; is required in certain areas of the facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
