Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Boiler Operator Apprentice for our operation in Lima, Ohio. The Boiler Operator is a member of our Melt Department responsible for: Operating/monitoring/maintaining the boiler and associated equipment. This will be a 3rd shift training position, but employees must be capable of working any shift to cover production needs and absences as needed.
Competitive: starting wage, benefit/insurance package, 8 paid holidays, 401K, PTO and Paid Relief Days, $1,000 Sign on Bonus, and incentive bonus plan
Starting wage for this position is $28/hr., with $ .50/hr. increases every 6 months for the first 24 months of employment or until established top pay has been achieved. Pay will increase $2/hr after online schooling is complete for High Pressure Boiler license. This position is eligible for production incentive pay.
Responsibilities:
•Maintain boiler and associated equipment
•Startup/shutdown of boiler and related system
•Operating/Monitoring boiler and related systems
•Performing required testing and treatment of boiler feed water
•Must be able to perform general maintenance on boiler as needed
•Participate in Melt Furnace Relines as needed
•Timely reporting of any equipment issues, all deviations, and any daily production documentation
•Performs other department duties, as assigned
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
•Must be capable of lifting up to 55-75 lbs. occasionally
•Exposed to heat from furnace and hot metal
•Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
•Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED required
•Must be willing to take the necessary courses to obtain a High Pressure Boiler License
•Previous foundry or construction experience preferred
•Strong attention to detail
•Must be available to work any shift, including some weekends
Must pass pre-employment criminal background check, physical and drug screen

•Eligible after 6 months; 401K program, $.50/hr base wage increases with review every 6 months up to the first 24 months of employment.
