MAINTENANCE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
Wage: Class M
Job Type: Hourly
Objectives
1.To continue developing a team-based and talented Maintenance Program to meet the ever-changing needs of the Winchester Plant.
2.To provide an opportunity for full-time employees to gain technical and practical experiences, knowledge, and skills to work towards consideration for the position of Maintenance Technician.
3.To allow qualified full-time employees a training opportunity which may lead to a promotion of
M Technician.
Criteria
The following must be satisfactorily met before consideration for this program occurs unless approved by plant manager.
1.Minimum of one (1) year of service with Kraft Heinz
2.Held current position for one (1) year or more.
3.Interview
4.Maintenance Entrance Testing
5.No performance discipline on file for current 1- year time
6.No more than 4.0 attendance points
7.Manager recommendation
Requirements
1.Must be on active full-time employment status.
Selection Process to Enter the Program
1.The number of apprenticeship openings will exclusively be determined based on the needs of the business and availability of resources. Being qualified at the end of the Apprenticeship does not automatically move you to the Maintenance Technician Position, there must be a full-time opening available. If no opening is currently available, employees that qualified in the apprentice program may be utilities to fill temporary vacancies and/or used for projects when necessary and compensated accordingly.
Training
1.The employee will be required to complete an in-house Skills Assessment and successfully complete any training courses required to satisfy their gap in required skills.
2.The business where an employee is trained will be determined on business needs.
3.Trainees will typically perform tasks that are identified and assigned on their individual training program.
•Employees will be compensated at the established rate of pay defined for Maintenance Apprentice while performing tasks identified and assigned to individual while training.
MM Technicians and the Maintenance Manager will observe, assess, and evaluate the trainee’s levels of skill development.
Performance feedback evaluations will be provided every month during the program, as well as during a program completion feedback session. Not meeting training expectations can result in removal from the program.
Failure or deviating from the assigned training plan and/or not living the Values of KraftHeinz and Plant rules may result in disqualification at any time from the program.
Completion of Program
Completion of this Program does not guarantee placement in a position as a Maintenance Technician.
Employees must provide acceptable documentation to illustrate successful completion of a credited Continuing Education course that coincides with the topic that the employee received a deficient score on the Skills Assessment Test.
•Acceptable proof of completion of external training is limited to documentation of either passing or minimum of C grade.
Full-Time Maintenance Technician positions will generally be awarded based on the following criteria.
•Successful Completion of the Apprenticeship Program
•Demonstrated Job Experience
•Leadership & Teamwork Skills
Failure to Complete this Program within the designated 12-month period (Or a predetermined timeline established by the Maintenance Manager, and HRBP with the involvement of the employee) will disqualify the employee for the current and future postings that are posted within a 12-month period of the employee’s latest program completion or consideration date.
An employee who is not awarded, assigned,
or placed in a Maintenance Technician Position upon Completion of this Program may be eligible to be considered for future vacancy, provided the employee has signed the notification posting for the new vacancy. Signing up for any prior posting will not automatically carryover for consideration for future vacancies. The successful completion of the Apprenticeship Program will be given first consideration.
