Job Description

We engineer impact where it counts, from the farms that feed to the modern city. Danfoss in Ames has an opening for a 3rd shift Tool Grind Technician. The hours for this position are Sunday - Thursday 10:00 pm - 6:00 am with the potential for overtime. The Tool Grind Technician is responsible for the reconditioning, building, and gauging of cutting tools used in machining.

Job Responsibilities
•Assemble cutting tools assemblies per a drawing.
•Inspection and gauging of cutting tools using both computerized and non-computerized gauging equipment.
•Recondition cutting tool components with various CNC grinding equipment.
•Provide expertise when troubleshooting problem issues with cutting tools.
•Maintain inventory accuracy using computerized inventory system.
•Demonstrate a commitment to maintain safe, clean and orderly work area. Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
•(1) years of PMT experience is preferred
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Completion of GD&T training course is preferred
•Willing to work on weekends as needed
•Have a good understanding of mechanical assemblies
•Self-starter, ability to work alone (unsupervised) as well as in a team
•Experience with Microsoft Office products. (Excel, Word, etc.)
•Ability to work self-sufficiently with good communication skills
•Work ethic which includes a strong desire for continuous improvement
•Understands customer service and communicates well with all customers
