Reliability Tech Apprentice Electrical
Position Overview
Ignite Reliability Apprentice: An amazing opportunity for Shaw associates at Plant 6. This program will be an Apprenticeship Opportunity recognized by the State of Georgia and fully funded. After the program, participants will earn a certificate from Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Graduates from this program will be eligible to be hired permanently into a department as a reliability electrician/technician. Associates will attend school part-time and work the balance in maintenance to make a 40-hour week (minimum).
•Program Duration: 1 Year
•All tuition, fees, books, study supplies, & uniforms will be paid for and provided by Shaw.
•Placement will be driven primarily by business needs, but individual preferences will be taken into consideration.
Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
•Associates will attend school part-time (one day per week) and work the balance to provide a 40-hour work week (minimum).
•Once the participant has developed sufficient skills, they will begin hands-on training with a reliability OJT.
•Job expectations will be revised as knowledge is gained.
•DOS tools will be used to document Level 1 and 2 observations.
Non-Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility).
•Acceptable level of performance and attendance in both school and work.
•General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements:
•Candidates will interview with Shaw and complete pre-placement screening required by Shaw (Interview, assessment, etc.).
•Candidates must be in good standing (no active written or final corrective actions for attendance and less than 7 occurrences per Shaw’s attendance policy.
•No active written or final corrective actions for performance.
•Must be willing to go to any shift upon completion of the program (normally, 12-hour nights, 2nd, or 3rd). This will be determined based on business needs.

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
