Under general direction, Econolite Systems, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time state registered Electrician Apprentice for various Transportation System projects located in Southern California. The Electrician Apprentice will be expected to work on Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) related projects under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician. Specific types of work include outside conduit installation, pull box installations, service cabinet installations/wiring, long distance cable pulls, working in lane closures within close proximity to moving traffic, etc.
DUTIES
•Inspect, install and maintain electrical components and systems, such as traffic signal circuits, cabinets, transformers, circuit breakers, services, street light luminaires, CCTV, communications equipment, etc.
•Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
•Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
•Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
•Serves as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of Econolite Systems, Inc. by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner to support The Brand Promise
•Performs other duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
•Currently enrolled in a state registered apprenticeship program
•High School Diploma or GED
•Must have a clean driving record
•Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 75 pounds.
•Willingness and capability to work on traffic signals street lights and other Intelligent Transportation Equipment, using a bucket truck (provided by Econolite Systems, Inc.)
•Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
•Safety sensitive position-may be required to work at busy traffic intersections
•Must be able to use sound judgment, reasoning, and logic to execute tasks
•Required to drive up to five hours a day; ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
•May work in various, changing outdoor weather conditions, i.e. rain, heat, snow, etc.
BUSINESS TRAVEL & HOURS
•100% travel to project locations and company facilities across the various counties within the San Francisco Bay Area and Stockton.
•Some or all hours may be during 3rd shift

PRE-EMPLOYMENT
All candidates who accept employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening. For applicable roles, candidates who accept employment will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle/Driving Record screening.
COMPENSATION
The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $17.30 - $20.00 per hour (base pay) plus benefits. When applicable, based on the county and work classification per the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), prevailing wage rates will be used. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
