Training description
You should have a desire to learn and to become a certified Millwright. Demonstrate a commitment to tasks and responsibilities. Be detail oriented with a basic mechanical understanding.
Plan and perform a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and installation
IN THIS JOB YOU WILL…
•
Demonstrate Safe work practices in all you do
•
Work hand in hand supporting Millwrights - on the job training - preventive maintenance, equipment failures and equipment repairs, other duties as assigned
•
Assist Millwrights in completing maintenance responsibilities and classroom or book course work; at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor
•
Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure proper operation and maintenance of systems and equipment
TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED…
•
To make safety in the workplace a number one priority
•
An understanding of equipment operation in an industrial plant setting; lumber industry is desired
•
An understanding of maintenance needed for industrial equipment
•
An aptitude for learning mechanical skills (hydraulic, pneumatic……)
•
Ability to demonstrate basic math skills
•
Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, and move equipment as needed Must be comfortable in year around outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, with airborne particles (sawdust), and working around moving mechanical equipment
•
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•
Team player and highly self-motivated individual
