•Assists in the construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground systems from either pole or aerial lift device;
•Assists in restoring overhead and underground outages;
•Assists in performing line patrol;
•Assists with the installation of transformers, switches, reclosers, capacitors, meters and other electrical apparatus;
•Digs poles and anchor holes, frames and sets poles and anchors, installs guy wires, sags, and ties in conductors;
•Installs service. Connects, disconnects and reconnects as assigned;
•Assists with streetlight installation and maintenance;
•Repairs and replaces service drops as required;
•Reads, changes, installs and seals meters as assigned;
•Becomes familiar with the electric distribution system feeds and circuits;
•Trims trees and cuts brush on right of way as assigned;
•Completes outage reports; material tickets; connects, disconnects, or reconnects orders as required;
•Operates equipment as needed;
•Requires to oversee the safe work practices of employees of lower classification assigned to work with this position;
•Perform on call duty as required;
•Responsible for following all safety policies and procedures;
•Other duties as required.
•Frequently climb ladders, stairs, poles, or inclined surfaces;
•Occasionally bend and kneel during the shift;
•Frequently pull wires towards oneself;
•Rotate trunk to the right or left from a sitting or standing position;
•Continuously lift up to 25 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds;
•Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds;
•Place arms above, at, and below shoulder height;
•Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to drive a vehicle and operate a bucket truck.
