•Enrollment in a current high school or trade school diesel tech program.
•Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required.
•Must have a positive attitude and willingness to grow in position.
•Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
•Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job and apprenticeship.
•Change lubricants, filters and performs other preventive maintenance functions as necessary. Performs safety inspections on any/all equipment.
•General repairs on truck fleet and heavy construction equipment to include the repair of gasoline and diesel engines, repair of electrical systems including lights, repair of hydraulic systems, and repair/adjustment to drive train and brake systems.
•Perform diagnostic road tests. Repair work, drop-off and pick-up of vehicles, parts and/or delivery of fluids and equipment.
•Inspects defective and malfunctioning equipment and performs diagnostic tests using diagnostic software and other equipment as required.
•Performs duties and training in both the light-duty and heavy-duty.
•Repairs and replaces tires on all equipment.
•Other duties may be assigned as needed.
