•Monitor and maintain the District’s Key Control Policy, maintain and key filing system for keys, cut keys, stamp number on keys
•Be able to resolve complex keying issues that may be necessary to satisfy the security needs of the district
•Responsible for installation and maintenance of all PISD locking systems
•Install new locks, repair, open and remove locks, and clear keyways of obstructions
•Programs, reprogram, installs, and maintains coded keyless systems, both mechanical and electronic
•Cut new, replacement or duplicate keys; re-key locks as necessary
•Monitors work performed by outside contractors, generate key schedules, review blueprints and key charts, reports to superviso on issues iwth District Standard
•Maintains lock shop in a clean and safe condition at all times
•Must be able to perform necessary paperwork to process work orders
•Must have a working knowledge of computer systems in regards to email, time entry and work orders
•Participates in the preparation of cost estimates, material orders and records maintenance
•Knowledge in best key system and core control
•Install multiple styles and types of hardware from cylindrical locks, mortise locks, exit devices, closers, etc
•Basic function of electronic access, latch releases, low voltage
•Knowledge in types of door systems such as storefronts, hollow metal, full glass, and laminate
•Knowledge in switch locks needed for elevators, roll gates, basketball goals, etc
•Basic knowledge on safes, lockers, combination changing/replacing
•Pick/drioll out locks or make keys to match lock if lost
•Knowledge in fire codes, building codes for educational facilities
•Possess good PR abilities
•Must have a working knowledge of computer systems in regard to email, work order, and time entry systems
•Assist other crafts as needed
•Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hour emergencies
•Perform other duties as assigned
