Utility Person
Under general supervision, perform a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance that include, but are not limited to Industrial machine cleaning, pump out and honing of machinery, production waste movement and proper disposal, machine filter change, carpentry, painting, plumbing, waste management and general cleaning as needed. Provide support as requested of parts and maintenance inventory supplies required for the Facilities, Maintenance and Production Departments.
Candidate should be able to operates a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment to include floor scrubber, fork truck and pallet jack, industrial vacuum equipment and be able to perform related work as required. Candidate will work with Facility Manager to ensure that facilities are consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
Job Responsibilities:
•Assist Facility Manager with execution of the team’s goals and objectives
•Provide facility specific assistance as needed or requested
•Perform light building maintenance as needed
•Provide Industrial machine cleaning
•Movement of machine waste to include filters and chips and proper disposal in compliance with plant processes
•Preserves safe and clean work environment, following workplace organization standards
•Collect and properly dispose of production waste and recycling according to site standards
•General cleaning support as needed and requested by the facility manager
•Provide quality service by following organization standards and safe workplace practices.
•Other general facilities support as requested by the Facility Manager
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Years of Experience:
•2+ years’ experience with Facility, warehouse or production support
Skills and Knowledge:
•Experience with fork truck and other mobile equipment operation
•Knowledge and ability to comply with facility standards and safety procedures
•Superior customer service skills and orientation
•Ability to maintain professionalism at all time under stressful situations
•Ability to multitask and work with or without direct supervision
Physical Work Requirements:
•Must be able to utilize PPE when necessary
•The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously for extended periods of time.
•The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
•Must possess the necessary hand and motor skills needed to pull and stock parts and to perform other job duties
•The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects that may be 25+ pounds.
