With a reputation for doing what it takes and doing it right the first time, we’ve become a trusted partner on high-profile commercial projects from Jacksonville to Orlando and beyond.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Commercial Start-Up & Service Technician who knows how to get systems running right-from the first wire to the final walkthrough.
The Role: Commercial HVAC Start-Up & Service Technician
If you’ve commissioned VRF systems, diagnosed rooftop units, wired controls, fine-tuned refrigeration, and lived in the field troubleshooting everything from Daikin to Scotsman-this role was made for you.
We’re seeking a hands-on, field-proven tech who knows commercial systems inside and out. You’ll handle start-ups, service calls, and full refrigerant cycle diagnostics across a variety of equipment-no guesswork, just results.
What You’ll Be Doing
Start-up, commission, service, and troubleshoot:
•VRF/VRV systems (multi-zone variable refrigerant flow)
•Walk-in coolers, reach-ins, and ice machines (Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Scotsman)
You’ll also:
•Handle full refrigerant service: reclaim, evacuate, pressure test, leak test, and charge
•Read wiring diagrams and startup specs with confidence
•Diagnose control systems, compressors, relays, TXVs, fans, and boards
•Perform control wiring and low-voltage troubleshooting
•Braze copper, install PVC drains, and set up systems to spec
•Keep detailed documentation: start-up sheets, logs, and service records
•Maintain a stocked and organized service vehicle-because we know good techs don’t like being slowed down
What You Bring
•Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC field experience
•Proven, hands-on expertise with:
•AAON & Daikin rooftop/split systems
•VRF/VRV commissioning and diagnosis
•Commercial refrigeration (walk-ins, ice machines, reach-ins)
•EPA Universal Certification
•Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
•Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical specs
•Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
•Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all field environments
Why CT Mechanical?
•We’re not just doing HVAC-we’re leading the mechanical industry in Florida
•Competitive compensation and benefits
•A growing team where your skills are respected and your work is valued
•A clear path to grow into lead roles, project specialties, or commissioning leadership
•A company culture built on:
