We are looking for enthusiastic candidates looking to begin a career in the trades as a Local 669 Fire Sprinkler Apprentice and join F.E. Moran Fire Protection to work on projects in the Quad Cities area.
Apprenticeship Overview:
•Duration: 5-year program
•On-the-Job Training (OTJ) in the field
•Online courses and book work
•In-person schooling (19 courses through a nationally recognized university)
Starting Classification:
•Most apprentices begin as Class 1
•Potential Advanced placement if you have experience in:
•Plumbing, HVAC, or electrical
•Military service in a related field
•Union determines starting class level based on experience and discretion
Progress Review:
•Every 6 months, apprentice records are reviewed for:
•Satisfactory On-the-Job progress
•Satisfactory performance in related training courses
•Satisfactory progress leads to promotion to the next classification and a wage increase
Credit for Experience:
•Opportunity to receive credit (and start at a higher level) based on:
•Completed college courses

•Full insurance coverage for the apprentice and eligible dependents
•Pension included through the union
Qualifications:
•GED or Highschool Diploma required
•Construction experience is a plus but not required
•Basic construction knowledge
•Understanding and experience using hand tools
•Ability to travel to job sites local and abroad - valid driver’s license.
•Ability to adapt and learn a new trade
•Ability to work consistently with heights
•Must be physically fit to do the work of the trade
•Must pass an appropriate drug test and physical
