Job Description
CCS Construction Staffing is hiring experienced Pipe Welders for a ground-up dry dock ship build project at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City Beach, FL. This is a long-term federal project lasting approximately 15 months with steady hours, paid travel, and housing provided for qualified tradesmen.
Applicants must have verifiable pipe welding experience. CCS does not hire helpers or anyone without relevant trade experience. All applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States and the ability to meet military base access requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
•Minimum 3 years of experience welding in shipyard, industrial, or marine construction environments
•Must be able to pass a standard weld test (MMA, TIG, CW, or similar) prior to placement - certification preferred but not required
•Proficient in MMA (Stick), TIG, CW (Cold Wire), and flux core processes
•Capable of welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper-nickel piping systems
•Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and ISO drawings
•Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain high-quality standards under inspection
•Comfortable working in confined spaces, elevated areas, and shipyard conditions
•Ship fitting or pipe fitting experience is a plus
Project and Travel Details:
•All accommodations and living arrangements provided at no cost
•Paid travel to and from the job site (arranged in advance)
•Project start date: November 10th (early starts welcome)
•Long-term assignment: approximately 15 months
•Daily drug testing performed on-site by client
•Preference for welders willing to transition to full-time employment after project completion
