•Directly supervises 1 to 8 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
•Assists in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; helps appraise performance, address complaints, and resolve problems.
•Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or project specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
•Selects appropriate materials and installation methods according to project specifications.
•Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines, using templates or patterns.
•Sets up and operates fabricating machines, tools, and equipment to accurately complete work.
•Installs work according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring adherence to quality standards and schedule.
•Works closely with the project manager and field superintendent to coordinate workflow and maintain productivity.
•Maintains accurate job logs, construction activity records, and other project documentation.
•Ensures timesheets are completed and submitted accurately and on time.
•Instructs and mentors new employees, particularly helpers, to promote skill development and career growth.
•Complies with all company policies and safety procedures.
•Assembles pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
•Tests piping systems by filling with water or air and monitoring pressure gauges for leaks.
•Performs complex calculations and planning for specialized or large-scale projects.
•Locates and marks pipe installation points using measuring tools such as rulers and levels.
•Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe using appropriate tools and equipment.
•Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and fixtures.
•Cuts openings in structures for pipes and fittings.
•Handles pipe cutting, preassembly, and installation of plumbing systems and components.
•Installs underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems and connects them to fixtures.
•May install oxygen and medical gas systems in healthcare facilities.
•High school diploma or GED required
•2-3 years of relevant plumbing or pipe fabrication experience
•Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and materials
•Ability to properly use hand tools and equipment
•Strong initiative, dependability, and attention to detail
•Reliable attendance and punctuality
