Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: BUILDING MAINTENANCE
QUALIFICATIONS: Basic understanding of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance.
Ability to learn from on-the-job training. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods of time, and work without close supervision. Must be able to climb 12 ft ladder. Must be available to work overtime and flex schedule, if needed.
JOB GOALS: Maintenance of all corporation buildings and grounds to provide for a safe, clean, and habitable environment.
Reports to: Maintenance Team Leaders
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job duties shall include, but not limited to the operation, repair, and maintenance of:
•
Doors and hardware
•
Ceiling tile systems
•
Painting
•
Wall and flooring repairs
•
Electrical: bulbs, ballast, switches, outlets, minor electrical repairs
•
Plumbing: faucet, toilets, shower valves, roto-rooter
•
Preventive maintenance on any assigned equipment
•
Maintenance equipment: lifts, tractors, mowers, forklifts, and dock lifts
•
Provide snow removal, including brooming all facility sidewalks and spreading ice melt on front walks and bus loading zones.
•
Assist with transporting items between corporation buildings.
•
Display proper conduct in the presence of students and faculty.
•
Other duties shall include those assigned by Maintenance Team Leaders.

Demonstrate respect for super-ordinates, subordinates and peers.
•

Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
•
Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner.
