Job description
SCHEDULE: 8 Hours - (6:45 am to 2:45 pm)
Full year position (258 days per year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
•
Demonstrated ability to work with students, staff, public and has a positive outlook toward the employer and co-workers;
•
High school diploma or equivalent;
•
Proven experience in inventory control, ordering of materials/supplies, account billing, and payroll processing,
•
Previous experience working with vendors,
•
Demonstrated ability to multi-task while completing time-sensitive projects,
•
Versed in Excel spreadsheets and database management;
•
Internal applicants must have passed Clerical Skills Proficiency & Skyward exams and have been actively using skills in their present position,
•
External applicants must pass Clerical Skills Proficiency & Skyward exams within the probationary period.
•
Successful interview with Directors of Buildings and Grounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (The listed responsibilities are examples of some of the tasks that will be required.)
•
Handles communications, maintain reports, personnel records, expenditures, and payroll;
•
Will be responsible for using basic office machines and Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Google Suites;
•
Communicates with maintenance and school personnel during inclement weather;
•
Responsible for accepting and processing applications for open custodial/maintenance positions;
•
In the absence of the Director will handle routine office matters
•
As required, assists in completing reports and maintenance-related documents
•
Management of Merrillville Community School Corporation Building Rental Forms, including calculation of charges and billing;
•
Will document seasonal utility management usage;
•
Will prepare and post custodial positions, testing, and background checks for potential employees;
•
Responsible for scheduling of in-service training;
•
Responsible for all other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds;
•
Organize and file work orders for repairs to individual buildings;
•
Assigning work to maintenance people.
•
Maintain and update building physical property records of inventory and service equipment;
•
The location and purchase of repair parts for all building equipment owned by the school;
•
Perform other duties as assigned by the Directors of Buildings and Grounds.
