•Perform and complete minor electrical projects, plumbing repairs, changing ceiling tiles, carpentry repairs, mechanical repairs, painting, and HVAC repairs with minimal supervision
•Review and respond to maintenance work orders (tickets) submitted through a ticketing system, diagnose issues, perform necessary repairs, and update the ticket status
•Perform minor maintenance tasks such as cleaning up spills, replacing light bulbs, addressing plumbing fixture leaks, and removing obstructions from sinks and toilets, patching and painting of interior and exterior building surfaces, setups and breakdowns for events on campus
•Routinely inspect floors, walls, windows and furniture in all campus buildings
•Assist in the development and implementation of preventive, corrective, and major maintenance programs and maintenance schedules
•Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs as needed
•Move furniture and/or equipment within buildings as required for various campus activities
•Operate and maintain grounds equipment (golf cart, truck, lawnmower, trimmer, blower, small front loader etc.)
•Perform landscaping duties including lawn care, planting, mulching, edging, weeding, and seasonal clean-up
•Prune plants, shrubs, and bushes - operating small chainsaws and other pruning equipment
•Operate snow removal equipment - shovel, plow, and salt driveways, parking areas, sidewalks and steps as appropriate
•Drive school vehicles as needed
•Maintain job-site safety for co-workers and the public including traffic control and minimization of hazardous conditions
•Conform with all safety rules and practices, and perform work in a safe manner
•Prepare and unlock school facilities before the arrival of students and staff each morning
•Report immediately to the Director of Facilities and Grounds any repairs that need attention and/or damage to school property
•Deliver excellent customer service to diverse audiences. Respond to customer service requests, questions and complaints. Maintain a positive customer service demeanor and deliver service in a respectful and patient manner
•Arrive to work, meetings, and other work-related functions on time and maintain regular job attendance
•Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Grounds and/or School Administration
•Working knowledge and experience completing minor repairs
•Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC, and mechanical systems
•Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
•Must be able to lift, twist, bend, climb, and carry up to 50 pounds
•Climb ladders and work from heights as necessary
•Ability to operate office equipment such as a computer, copier and phone
•Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff, students, parents and visitors
•Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions quickly
•Must be able to work schedules necessary to maintain property and accommodate school functions year-round, including work on a rotating Saturday schedule
•Ability to endure exposure to inclement weather
•Professionalism with and amongst all constituencies
•Ability to pass a pre-employment background check in accordance with applicable laws
•Ability to pass a drug screen at the time of hire and throughout employment, as permitted by law
•Hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record (must be insurable by School’s insurance provider)
