Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a Milling Operator Apprentice for our operation in Pittsburgh, PA. The Milling Operator Apprentice is a member of our Machining Department responsible for training to operate a milling machine to mill our forged rolls to customer specifications.

Wage Range for this position is: $23.00 per hour, (rate based on experience and milling abilities) with possible $ .50 pr hr increases available every 6 months for 24 months of employment or until established top rate of pay has been achieved.
Shift: flexible based on production needs- 1st (days) or 3rd shift (overnight).
Responsibilities:
•Read and interpret roll prints
•Set up and operate mills and controller
•Milling rolls to customer blueprint specification
•Inspect milled dimension(s) to customer blueprint
•Reporting all deviations from customer blueprint specifications
•Perform other department duties, as assigned
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
•Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
•Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
•Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED required
•Previous machining and milling experience preferred but not required
•Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment and/or heavy machinery preferred
•Strong attention to detail
•Ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints
•Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
•Previous CNC machining experience preferred
•Must be able to work any shift
Must pass pre-employment criminal background check, physical and drug screen
