•Two years’ experience performing preventive maintenance inspections, changing oil and filters, lubricating chassis, minor repairs, and performing tire work or Vo-tech training and one year’s experience.
•Ability to disassemble and replace components such as brake shoes, brake cams, slack adjusters, drums, suspension parts, springs, airbags, wheel bearings, seals, clutches, starters, alternators, fan hubs, water pumps, fan belts, transmissions, third members, product pumps. AC components, external engine components and diagnose after treatment and check engine light problems.
•Must be competent with a PC and Microsoft Office
•Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
•Driving tractor trailers units in and out of shop and around the terminal yard
•Must be willing to work overtime as needed, flexible shifts, some weekends, and ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
•Basic knowledge of Paccar, Cummins, Bendix, and Eaton Software
•Must supply own hand tools per minimum required list with willingness to purchase additional tools.
•Inspection, service, preventive maintenance, and repairs of equipment for a safe operation and compliance with Department of Transportation rule and regulations
•Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
•Document all repairs for DOT required maintenance files.
•Help maintain clean safe working environment in truck shop.
•Coordinate scheduling of equipment with shop supervisor and trucking supervisor
•Assist with training of employees within operation of safety items on trucks and trailers.
•Regularly communicate with Supervisor work progress, concerns, and questions
•Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
•Must be willing to work out of a service truck as needed for road calls.
•Must be willing to work overtime as needed, flexible shifts, to include weekends, after hours.
•Test, calibrate, and document testing of safety equipment as needed.
•Assist with training of employees with operation and safety items on trucks and trailers.
•Regularly communicate with Supervisor work progress, concerns, and questions
•Regular inspection, service, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment to ensure that all equipment is safe and in compliance with Department of Transportation rules.
•Provide preventative maintenance, service, and repairs in a timely, safe, and cost-effective practical manner.
•Check all equipment to ensure that it will complete DOT roadside inspection with no violations.
•Must be accurate and timely in maintenance reporting and records or repair.
•Maintain a clean, organized workspace and truck show while complying with disposal regulations.
