Become a Transformer Helper at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll assists specialists and foremen and performs semi-skilled work at shop or field locations to dismantle, repair and assemble distribution apparatus and repair tools and equipment. Transports tools, materials, and equipment to and from the job site. Dismantles, cleans, reconditions, or replaces and assembles apparatus as directed. Rigs and signals for operation of material handling equipment. Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoists and chain falls and light truck. Performs semi-skilled machining, painting and mechanical work, general housekeeping, and unskilled tasks.

•Working on basic theories of electricity and mechanics; nomenclature and general application of hand and power operated tools; and general safe practices and first aid procedures.
•Following oral and written instructions
•Safely performing semi-skilled electrical-mechanical work on power system type equipment; operate light trucks, and material handling vehicles.
•Performing heavy physical work in a shop
The essentials
•One or more years of experience in electricity and mechanics using hand and power operating tools
•One or more years of experience performing semi-skilled electrical-mechanical work on distribution apparatus, operating light trucks, and material handling vehicles.

•This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. Testing
•This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: 5108 - EEI CAST Test and 4027 - SC&M Transformer Helper Physical Performance Test. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
