BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES
YouthBuild gives a second chance to Baltimore City youth who have dropped out of high school. We provide construction training and certifications, assistance in earning a high school diploma or GED, and job placement services. Each year, YouthBuild provides comprehensive services to a minimum of 30 participants per year between the ages of 16 and 24. YouthBuild is a national model. Civic Works’ YouthBuild program is supported by two U.S. Department of Labor grants. Under the 2020 grant, a total of $1,099,999, or 80% of the program is financed with federal funds, and $275,000, or 20% is funded by other sources. Under the 2022 grant, a total of $1,472,000, or 80% of the program is financed with federal funds, and $368,000.00, or 20% is funded by other sources.
