Carpenters Local 1889 was founded in February 1912. Fifteen men formed Carpenters Local 1889 with a common cause to improve their livelihoods and their well-being for themselves and their families. Today with the leadership and support of the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, we represent over 2000 skilled carpenters. Our area of jurisdiction is in DuPage County and North of Butterfield Rd. in Kane County. Our Local represents skilled carpenters in the areas of but not limited to General Carpenter, Residential Carpenter, Interior Systems Carpenter and Concrete Forming.
